Titania Andersen is the Steel type Gym Leader of the Reborn League, the older sister of Hardy, and an alumnus of the Onyx Trainers' School. She hands out the Alloy Badge, the 15th Gym Badge the player receives.
Titania is headstrong and fairly short-tempered, coming off as cold and callous to allies and enemies alike. Though her treatment of her enemies borders on immoral, she justifies her actions with the belief that to some, violence is the only answer they'll listen to. She is known for wielding her Aegislash like a sword, turning it on trainers themselves if necessary. She is also Amaria's significant other and cares for her deeply, in spite of the emotional toll it puts on her.
Story Events[]
Onyx Trainers' School[]
An entry from Titania's diary can be found in Onyx Trainers' School. In it, Titania chastises the reader for trying to find potentially compromising information about her. She discourages the reader from speaking to her, and advices them to know people by speaking to them instead.
A second book with her writing on can be found as well. Titania comments on the nature of the traditional hero's tale, in which a damsel must be rescued by the knight from a beast such as a dragon. Refusing this convention, Titania instead writes that only the little girl to whom the dragon's back is turned to can defeat it. The knight, instead, is an ignoramus who believes that armor will save him from being burned. This same writing is later found and continued in Titania's Gym.
North Aventurine Woods[]
Although Titania is first met in Fiore Mansion, she can be found earlier in an optional path in North Aventurine Woods speaking with a Meteor Grunt. It's later revealed that Titania was giving Team Meteor false information and exploiting them in turn.
Fiore Mansion[]
While looking for Hardy on Route 2, the player enters Fiore Mansion to be greeted by a cheerful Amaria who introduces the player to Titania. While going to get cotton candy from the circus, Titania found Hardy lying on the ground sleeping, and carried him back to the Mansion. As Amaria gets up to bring you to Hardy, Titania makes her sit down as she is still recovering from a cracked rib by Solaris' Tyranitar. Upstairs, the player will find Hardy sleeping, however shortly being woken up by Titania, he will leave to reunite with Aya at the Agate Circus.
Upon walking downstairs, Gossip Gardevoir and Saphira are discussing Team Meteor's attack on Calcenon City and Labradorra City on TV. Once the broadcast ends, Titania tells Amaria that she should not get involved due to Team Meteor wanting the Sapphire Bracelets she possesses. Titania also explains that she found the Sapphire Bracelets in the Chrysolia Region near a hidden lake covered in ash, indicating that the bracelets once belonged to Laura, before losing them in the fire that took their family home. Titania then gives the player a battle pass in order to battle Samson and obtain TMX3 Surf.
Once the player beats Samson and returns to Fiore Mansion, they'll find Titania near her diary, informing the player that Amaria went for a walk and goes to get TMX3 Surf herself, leaving her diary open. Amaria returns, lamenting her lack of success in uncovering more information about Team Meteor, and notices the open diary. She reads several entries out loud before her and the player both are confronted by Titania, who tries but ultimately fails to lie to Amaria about the contents of the diary. Unable to be convinced, and her trust in Titania shattered, Amaria flees the Mansion.
Celestinine Cascade[]
The player finds Titania and Amaria at a waterfall, where they must make a choice between siding with one of the two. Regardless of the choice made, wracked with grief, Amaria throws herself over the edge of the waterfall. Before jumping in after her, Titania warns the player that they better find a way to get them both back up.
Water Treatment Center[]
After activating TMX Waterfall, the player goes down the waterfall only to find Titania alone. Titania says she's stuck in the Water Treatment Center due to Meteor Grunts pinning her down and only having her Aegislash with her. She is not leaving until she gets Amaria back however, and tried to do so by dealing with some meteor grunts first with her Aegislash. The player and her progress through the sewers, having their progress "impeded" by Taka, when in fact he is trying to help them progress. Taka is disillusioned with Team Meteor's goals, and while Titania says if he wants to leave Team Meteor he should just do it, Taka says he can't just run away from his birthright. After reactivating the WTC, Titania remarks how Amaria would be proud of having the water restored.
The pair then encounters Taka again in the backroom of the Water Treatment Center. Taka tells the pair that Amaria is safe and that he has no intention in stopping them and gives them the Sapphire Bracelets as a sign of goodwill. After Titania confirms Amaria's condition, Taka requests the player to battle him to make it look like he tried to stop them. Titania says its not going to help him escape Team Meteor and if we battle him, he'll continue on like this. Taka explains that he wanted to quit Team Meteor but his bloodline between him and Solaris is stopping him to do so. He states that the only reason he’s a part of Team Meteor is due to his father, and that he doesn't really agree with what they're doing. The player then has the choice to battle Taka or not. If the player chooses to battle Taka here, they will be set on the Zekrom Route, while if they simply leave with Titania they will be set on the Reshiram Route. Regardless of the choice made, the player is ambushed by Ace as they try to leave.
Going back to the entrance of the Water Treatment Center, Titania carries Amaria on Deliverance's back and comments perhaps she didn't need the player at all, but expresses her thanks for the rescue regardless.
Fiore Mansion[]
Titania then goes back to Fiore Mansion for Amaria to rest. Team Meteor quickly launches a full scale assault on the Mansion, attempting to steal back the Sapphire Bracelets. Florinia, Julia and the player arrive on scene to assist Titania in fending them off. After a series of battles, Sirius tries to burn down the house using his Chandelure, but Titania brings out her Excadrill to flood the house with water, due to it having a built-in Water Type gym.
Team Meteor then retreats, and Amaria wakes up. She asks who the player is, and Julia replies they already met before. Amaria says the last thing she remembers was going to help Florinia with a plant problem at Obsidia Ward, which Florinia replies that Amaria must have suffered Amnesia. Titania asks what she is to Amaria, which she replies "the love of her life". Titania then leaves and the player goes to talk to her. Titania says that although messy, Amaria learning the truth of her feelings would have allowed the both of them to live their own lives, not shackled to their obligation to the other. With Amaria suffering from amnesia, they've landed back at square one, and all of the effort her and the player went through was for nothing. She lashes her anger out on a nearby rock, before saying she's taking the Sapphire Bracelets for herself, in hopes of attracting Team Meteor's attention and sparing Amaria having to be involved in the continued conflict. She instructs the player to meet her at her Gym, and flies off on her Skarmory towards the Tourmaline Desert.
Never After[]
Titania is next encountered in the Never After, a fairy-tale like castle that acts as her Gym, hidden deep within the Tourmaline Desert. As the player scales the castle, they are ambushed by Lin, who has arrived to see the Sapphire Bracelets put into the correct hands. If the player is on the Reshiram Route, Taka has also been ambushed by Lin and subsequently brought to the castle, where he expresses his regret at allowing Lin to find them, and pleading that this isn't what he wanted. The player then encounters Titania, who asks if they trusts her, and the two work together to outsmart and defeat Lin. Giving the player the Sapphire Bracelets in an attempt to trick Lin, the two split up as they progress towards Titania's Gym Arena. After the player defeats The Legendary Dragon Zekrom/Reshiram, depending on the route taken, the player once again encounters Lin, guarding the door to Titania's Arena. She questions if the player truly believes they have the ability to stand against her, and demands the Sapphire Bracelets. Before she can finish however, Titania appears behind her and stabs her through the chest with her Aegislash.
On the Zekrom Route, with Lin dead, Titania comments on how easy it was to slay the one responsible for sending their entire world into disarray. Content with her victory, she allows the player to keep the Sapphire Bracelets, and proposes they get their gym battle underway. After the player's victory, she rewards them with the Alloy Badge.
The victory is short lived, however, as Lin enters the Arena, seemingly unfazed by her "death" moments ago. Lin explains that by giving the player the Sapphire Bracelets, Titania has inadvertently accomplished her mission for her, stating that she and the player are working together, although Titania doesn't believe so. Lin leaves, making a threat on Amaria's life as she departs, much to the dismay of Titania. Titania remarks that if the player is truly working for Team Meteor, she will not hesitate to cut them down. She departs from the Never After, and returns to the Fiore Mansion in an effort to protect Amaria.
On the Reshiram Route, with Lin dead, Titania comments on how easy it was to slay the one responsible for sending their entire world into disarray. This victory is short lived however, as upon closer inspection to the body, it is revealed to be Taka, who Titania just accidentally killed. Lin appears, taunting Titania, saying that if she continues to swing her sword around, eventually someone will get hurt. Titania attempts to charge Lin and finish her off, but is immediately incapacitated by Lin's pure strength. Lin drags Titania by her hair to a pit of lava, once again taunting her and the player for only being able to succeed in a surprise attack. She threatens to kill Titania if the player attempts to intervene, commenting on their inability to face an opponent whose back isn't turned. Titania retorts, asserting how Lin's back is turned from her Aegislash, which flies forward and stabs Lin through the back, finishing her. The player assists Titania in climbing to safety, and the two reflect on Taka being a casualty in their conflict, even if he was on Team Meteor's side. The player may talk to Taka in his final moments, who assures them that this outcome is fine. Dejected, Titania tells the player to get ready for their Gym battle, displaying a despondent outlook towards the "ending" they achieved, stating there's no such thing as a happy ending.
The events of the aftermath of Titania's battle play out much the same as the Zekrom Route, however, Titania tells the player to go on ahead to Amaria's house while she gives Taka a proper burial, as his death is her responsibility.Fiore Mansion[]
Titania is next encountered in Amaria's Gym Arena. She explains to the player that while she tried to talk to Amaria about their current situation, the conversation turned sour and Amaria fled into the depths of her Gym's waters. She says that this isn't an uncommon occurrence for Amaria, and sometimes she can spend hours down there. She laments that the time she was able to have to herself while Amaria hid was the best time she ever had, as the remainder of her time was constantly being spent trying to prevent Amaria from breaking down. She asks the player to find Amaria and convince her to return so that they may have their Gym battle, stating it's unlikely Amaria is willing to listen to anything she has to say right now.
After the battle with Amaria, Titania can be found waiting outside her Gym. Titania tells the player that because of the threats made to Amaria's life by Lin, she is incapable of assisting in the continued struggle against Team Meteor. She remains at the Fiore Mansion, and is not present for the remaining events in the main game. The player arrives to the Fiore Mansion ahead of Titania, much to the dismay of Amaria. She tries several times to tell the player to leave, although they persist. Like the Zekrom Route, she goes into detail on how she's aware of Titania's true feelings, and yet can't help but keep dragging her back into her life. Upon the final interaction with Amaria, she accuses the player of being the reason Titania will eventually leave her, and attempts to drown the player. The player blacks out, and is quickly rescued by Titania, who confronts Amaria on her blatant attempt at murder. Amaria attempts to feign ignorance but ultimately fails, causing Titania to finally gather the resolve she needs to leave her. Amaria, destroyed, goes to her Gym Arena and awaits the player. After the battle with Amaria, she tells the player to leave, as she has finally set both them and Titania free. Titania can be found on the roof of the Fiore Mansion, where she reiterates that Amaria is no longer her responsibility, and she no longer believes there's a point in playing make-believe. She departs, leaving the player to progress back towards Calcenon City.
Calcenon City[]
Titania does not appear here on this route.
Titania is next encountered in Calcenon City, walking in on an argument between Hardy and Florinia. Much of the resistance force against Team Meteor that was stationed in Calcenon has gone missing while attempting to Investigate the Glass Workstation, and Hardy wants to gather what forces they have left and go rescue their friends. Florinia believes abandoning Calcenon is equivalent to giving the city back to Team Meteor, thus Titania instructs the player and Hardy to head to the Workstation while she and Florinia stay behind to defend Calcenon, saying the player is the bulk of the power left on their side, while also conveniently using the alone time with Florinia as a means to catch up with her after having spent so much time neglecting all of her other relationships in favor of caring for Amaria.
After the events in the Glass Workstation, Titania can be seen once again in Calcenon City, talking to Shelly. Shelly attempts to befriend Titania, although she experiences significant difficulties in talking to her due to her timid nature. Titania gives Shelly advice on how to compose herself, seem more confident, and state what she wants out of someone plainly. The two talk for a time about their shared love for literature, however the conversation is cut short by the news that the people of Agate City have woken up with the disabling of the PULSE Hypno. Team Meteor has in turn begun an assault of Agate City in an effort to secure a power supply for the PULSE Arc, and the resistance group stationed in Calcenon is forced into action. Titania wakes up Hardy, telling him his city needs him, and the two rush to join the Battle of Agate.Agate City[]
Titania does not appear here on this route.
Titania can then be seen assisting in repelling Team Meteor from Agate City, wielding her Aegislash in battle.
Labradorra City[]
Titania does not appear here on this route.
Titania is once again seen after the Battle of Labradorra commences. While Saphira attempts to battle Lin directly, she is unable to overcome both Lin's strength and the artillery support from the newly reactivated PULSE Clawitzer. Shelly, Florinia, Serra and Titania arrive to assist Saphira in repelling Lin while the player proceeds further into the city to disable the PULSE.
Labradorra Arena[]
Titania does not appear here on this route.
Titania, along with the rest of the player's allies present at the Battle of Labradorra, is forced to participate in Terra's Tournament. In the first round, she is forced to pair with Florinia in a match versus Amaria and Julia, much to her dismay. In the lobby before the match, she regrets the circumstances she has fallen into, and wonders if Amaria is stable enough to have participated in the battle in the first place. Before their first match, Titania criticizes Amaria for her inability to come to terms with her own grief, instead forcing others to care for her and putting on a front of being stable, as well as criticizing Julia for her inability to come to terms with reality, saying the "sugar coated dream team" she sees the four of them as does not exist. Ultimately, Titania and Florinia emerge victorious, rendering Julia and Amaria "deleted". In the lobby before her second match versus Florinia, Titania admits that being forced to fight her former friends felt good, especially the part where they stopped talking. She tells the player that it's nothing personal, but having become jaded, her only goal left is to remove all traces of her past and move forward. Before her match with Florinia, Titania attempts to break through Florinia's façade of eliminating all her emotions, revealing Florinia's decision partly stems from a shared history she and Titania used to have with Amaria. Despite her desperate attempts, she is unsuccessful, and Florinia would go on to unexpectedly win the match, "deleting" Titania.
Titania, along with everyone else, is eventually "restored" when Florinia manages to infect the Tournament building with her virus, allowing the player to defeat Terra once and for all.Victory Road[]
Titania does not appear here on this route.
Titania is next encountered on Victory Road, where she assists the player and their allies in cornering Team Meteor. Rather than focus on the Meteor Agents assailing the player, Titania surmises that the best course of action is to once again take the fight directly to Lin, even if this ultimately puts her allies at risk. Despite this, Titania assists the player in solving multiple puzzles throughout Victory Road, and ultimately makes her way to the Ruby Room with Hardy, where Sirius is still holding Aya hostage and threatening to throw her into a pool of lava. Titania antagonizes Hardy for continuing on his foolish quest to save Aya without ever actually accomplishing anything that helps save her, while also criticizing Aya for resigning herself to be just a damsel that waits to be saved. This spurns Aya to work towards saving herself for once, by pretending to collapse from heat exhaustion. Aya seemingly on the verge of death, Sirius loses his only leverage in the confrontation with the player, resulting in his defeat. Thereafter, he is ambushed by Saphira and thrown into a pool of lava, ending him. With Aya rescued, Hardy and her leave Victory Road, but not before some subtle words of approval from Titania.
Titania is finally seen at the end of Victory Road, after Fern's final defeat at the hands of the player. As Fern explains his motivations for his callous actions up to this point, Titania arrives and interjects, ridiculing him for his hypocrisy in claiming to want to make a world that's better for all, in spite of every action he's taken being selfish. Lin arrives on scene, saying that their right to change the world stems from their power, and none have the ability to reach them. Titania, aiming to prove them both wrong, rushes Fern and slams him into one of Victory Road's gears, tearing off a section of his face. Fern attempts to call Lin for help, but she abandons him for his weakness. With all of Team Meteor destroyed, Titania says she's caused enough damage for one day, and leaves the player to proceed to the Pokémon League for their final showdown with Lin.Nightclub[]
Titania makes her appearance at the Nightclub, along Tier 2 of the Postgame. Julia falsely informed her that the player had gotten fed up with Reborn’s mess, and took the first train they could get out of the region. Titania considered following suit, but is puzzled as to why the player returned.
Blacksteam Shelter - Neo Blacksteam Fabrication[]
Within Blacksteam Shelter, Titania is found teaching Aya how to play the bass. As they both explain, she is there doing that at Hardy’s request. Titania quickly understands Hardy is putting Aya through an unsavory first experience in playing by essentially conning her into a small concert in the Shelter. Aya repetitively expresses her embarrassment and self-loathing, which Titania shuts down, sternly encouraging her to focus on playing, and not being afraid. Titania tells Aya that Hardy is unable to see how situations affect people, and that if she leaves, she should do it because she doesn’t want to, not simply because she is scared of failing. After hearing a self deprecating joke from Aya, Titania also tells her to make jokes she doesn’t actually believe.
Suddenly, Aya’s mother, Lana, arrives. Her comments soon make Aya uncomfortable, for which Titania tells her to stop interrupting their rehearsal and leave. Aya’s step-father, Tez, arrives as well, threatening Titania for seemingly not minding her tone with Lana. Lana introduces him to everyone present, claiming he’s been kind to her ever since her divorce. Aya makes a dissenting comment on her own experience with him, for which Tez tells her to voice her criticisms to him like an adult, rather than making passive-aggressive “girls’ club” comments. This is then followed by a complete rebuttal on Titania’s part. First, Titania points out how Tez himself acts like a stereotypical man by barging in and making brash demands and pretending to have a moral high ground that is mostly sustained by physical violence. She then proceeds to expose the rest of Tez’s hypocrisy in expecting a teenager to interact with him on equal footing as an adult when his first move was to make a threats. It is also because he would likely disregard any and all criticisms as personal attacks, and make Aya’s life a living hell in exchange.
Soon after, Titania is pulled into Neo Blacksteam Fabrication, where she encounters several Genesect. The player assists her in defeating them, after which she tells them Hardy likely owes her many more favors for the current situation she’s in. Before they leave, she also says she will be the one to rescue Tez, as though the task is undesirable, she has more things to say to him. This is a threat: If Tez ever harms Aya, she will return him that harm tenfold. Titania reminds him of that threat when he nearly attacks Aya after the army of Genesect has been defeated. Aya is grateful for her support, and assures Titania she found her words helpful. This gladdens Titania.
Aegir Cave[]
Somehow, Titania comes to be possessed by the Red Orb, ending up in Aegir Cave with Amaria, who is possessed by the Blue Orb. Because of the antithetical relationship between the two orbs, Titania and Amaria are immediately forced into Umbral states. This, in turn, forces them into a fight against each other, screaming insults in an unintelligible language. They are soon found by Julia, Florinia, and the player, who determine that Rayquaza is necessary in order to quell their fighting. Until the player acquires a Rayquaza, Florinia and Julia stay in Aegir Cave and prevent Titania and Amaria’s fight from further escalating.
The player later returns with a Rayquaza, which instantly draws the attention of Titania and Amaria. They both proceed to fight the player. After their defeat, Lin establishes contact with everyone in Aegir Cave, just before tossing Amaria into the water. Titania’s possession is quickly disabled by the player, and she dives into the water to rescue Amaria. This only happens if the player has relationship points with Titania that are higher than those with Amaria.
After rescuing Amaria, Titania again acknowledges how tired she is of repeatedly saving her. Florinia asks her if Amaria will be okay, to which she replies that she’ll live, even if she continues to scare her time and time again. Florinia apologizes for the question, leading to Titania pointing out that Florinia is freezing up again, and that she should not forsake the progress she is making. Titania elaborates over Florinia’s apology, conveying to her that she needs not apologize when she didn’t cause any trouble to begin with. Moreover, Titania explains her point as well, which is for Florinia to make decisions and speak based on her emotions, not cold-hearted logic. She does this in order to fix a past mistake that became a regret, which was pushing Florinia out. This is a regret she lays bare to Florinia through her words.
When their old group is back together, Julia first voices out her wish for them to be friends once again. Florinia rejects this wish, and is followed by Titania in this. Titania does not believe their conflict has changed, even if they’re adult enough not to get anyone killed. Amaria also agrees that she does not want to live out lies for the sake of a story that will not end well. Adding onto that, Titania asserts that they should all find better stories to live by. Having said that, she leaves.

A special report from... the Investigation Squad!
Yo, Reborn City! What's up?! We're here with the Reborn Rundown giving you a look at the leaders of the Reborn League! I'm your host, DJ Arclight, now on air! But I gotta be honest with you guys-- I haven't had the best time lately. Had a little accident-- And let's just say it's a miracle I'm fit to go on TV right now. Eye patches are stylish, right? I'll spare you all the details-- some of them are unclear to me anyway. But for those who might be concerned-- no need. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger, but probably needs to be pummeled into the ground anyway. Enough about me-- we've got a Gym Leader profile to steal the show. And who better to steal it than the Steel Leader herself, Titania Andersen. Now Tania, as her friends call her, ain' the most friendly leader on the chopping block. She's got a personality harder than her element and a temper on the cutting edge. But this smoldering beauty is forged of more than just a metal mettle and flare. You'd never know from looking, but this lass has a literary lineage and the interest to match. I'm told that above all other subjects in her education at the Onyx Trainers' School-- even battling-- Miss Titania chose to prioritize classic literature. Who knows what about turning pages turns her head, but maybe it's this archaic aesthetic that draws her to older arts like drawing blades. For a girl known to swing around her Aegislash as easily as if it were an épée, it should be no surprise that the blade and buckle Pokemon also acts as her ace! Those who intend to take arms against her should take care not to lose their own during in battle! That's all for now, but remember, Trainers, Keep fighting with everything you've got! Hold your spirits high, and even you can defeat the Reborn League! |

Journal Entries + Fairy Tale Analysis[]
Titania's Entry (at OTS) |
So, you think it's cool to go around reading other people's diaries. Hoping you'll find dirt on me here? Or maybe some...weeping emotional confession?
A little piece of advice: If you want to know someone, go talk to them, don't creep around their private files. However, if this is the kind of person you are, don't bother talking to me. |
Fairy Tale Analysis (at OTS) |
"On Fairytales"
History has a habit of letting little girls wander past the forest's edge, Only to be swallowed up by any number of enchantments beyond. She awakens in a tower, Stone, Cold, Alone. A dragon guards her, its fangs bared to the world, Brimstone breath faithfully reserved for whatever metal-clad ignoramus thinks himself so mighty that even fire may not char his miserable flesh. But there is only one who can slay the beast: The one to whom its back is turned. |
The Actual Diary of Titania (Fiore Mansion) |
You know already, how sick I've been of this wretched facade since the beginning.
I had intended for Amaria's mood to grow more stable, but instead she has only become increasingly volatile and dependent. The ink I lace upon your pages is some solace, but I still cannot foresee any 'happy ever-after' to this fake fairy tale romance. I was a fool to have trapped myself in this role. At this rate, it will be the death of either her or myself. Regardless-- |
Fairy Tale Analysis (at Never After) |

History has a habit of letting little girls wander past the forest's edge, Only to be swallowed up by any number of enchantments beyond. Between wolves, witches, and rabbit holes, The world conceals a plethora of dangers waiting to leap upon and ensnare the unsuspecting and unshakably innocent children. So after its death must she weep, For it is a terrifying endeavor to face such a creature as that, Man, And lose such a dear friend, As a dragon, And finally, to have to find yet another one, Who would be so willing to lock her away, And keep her safe from history, true love, and other such poisons. After all, "Happily ever after" just means the writer stopped paying attention. |

Trivia[]
- Titania's name is a word play on the word 'Titanium'. It could also be a reference to 'Titania the Fairy Queen', a character in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream.
- Titania's VS sprite changes depending on the player's in-game choices.
- Her Zekrom Route VS sprite is based on that of Candice from Pokémon Platinum.
- In the profiles channel, it stated that Titania prioritized classic literature over other subjects when she was studying in the Onyx Trainers' School.
- In Hardy's profile channel, Titania used to train Rock-type Pokémon alongside Hardy. When Steel-Types were discovered, she decided to pursue that instead, practically abandoning him. This made Hardy somewhat bitter about Steel-Types (and possibly his sister).
- According to the merchants in the 1R253 Scrapyard, Titania used to hold Gym Battles there instead of in her castle.
- The texts seen at Titania’s castle are the same as the fairy tale analysis at Onyx Trainer’s School, just more in detail.
- In an interview with Amethyst, she stated that the similarities between Titania and Erza Scarlet (from the anime Fairy Tail) are pure coincidences.
