The Pyrous Mountain is a volcano located next to the Apophyll Academy.

In the game Edit

When the player and Victoria first met Kiki in the academy, Kiki gave both a separate task. The player was given the task to climb Pyrous Mountain to defeat Cal.

Later on, after exposing Team Meteor's plan to erupt the volcano, the player climbs the mountain again. This time teamed up with Cain. At the peak, Solaris challenges the player into a battle, claiming that he can defeat the player only using one Pokemon.

Note: Winning or losing the battle with Solaris will determine your tag-partner in the Fiore Mansion.

Special Encounters Edit

Turtonator or Heatmor Edit

Either a Turtonator can be found on the bottommost part of Pyrous Mountain with the lava switch or a Heatmor down the hole on B1F.

Lava Lizards Edit

Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard can be fished in the lava by using the Super Rod.

Battle Tip(s):

  • Use Focus Sash on a Pokemon with the move Curse like Gengar. Solaris' Garchomp will succumb to the curse before you run out of Pokemon (assuming, of course, you have a full team).
  • Alternatively, one can also use Igglybuff that is obtainable from Peridot Ward and simply use the Egg Move Perish Song.
  • You might be able to use the event murkrow from Lapis alley. It can have prankster and perish song.
