Darkness is love. There's nothing to fear.
Luna Vanhanen(?) is the eleventh Gym Leader of the Reborn region. She specializes in the Dark-type and is fought at Iolia Valley, where she hands out the Eclipse Badge, the ninth Gym Badge the player receives.
In the game Edit
|This article contains plot details about events that occur later in the game.|
When the player arrives at Vanhanen Castle they meet the Dark-type Gym Leader Luna who says she is Radomus' daughter and also Vanhanen Castle's maid. Upon Gossip Gardevoir and Luna leaving the room, Radomus mentions that Luna is not his daughter. However, this hasn't stopped Luna from insisting that Radomus is her father. As such, Radomus gladly takes care of Luna as she takes the role as a maid and princess while becoming fast friends with Gardevoir.
Soon after Luna returns mentioning another challenger has arrived which turns out to be Cain who, after confirming that Heather is now safe with a man named Blake, is back to challenging the gyms. After this battle Luna then receives a message saying how Gardevoir, who has been conspicuously missing since Radomus dismissed her and Luna earlier, has been captured by El who insist that his daughter is returned to him. Although Radomus at first has no intention of searching for Gardevoir, his position changes when Luna volunteered to go with Cain for the rescue search.
After the player visits and captures El at Citae Arc-d'Astrae Aerie, Luna is ecstatic at Gardevoir's return, but anxious about the new mind-controlled butler "Elias" being in their home. As such, she leaves the room and awaits the player's gym battle against Radomus.
After beating Radomus, Luna informs the player of how they will battle in Iolia Valley before the power cuts out. As the player leaves, he is tricked by El who is now free from Radomus' brainwashing/hypnosis and is about to be captured before Cain saves the player. He informs the player that Luna has been kidnapped before before facing El and allowing the player a chance to escape. Outside, Radomus meets up with the player and informs them that Luna is most likely somewhere at 7th Street below the Lapis Ward.
After the player goes to 7th Street and finds Bennett, he leads the player into Subseven Sanctum, where he is tricked by Bennett and El and caged up. After the player manages to sneak and maneuver their way around the guards and solve the biblical gate code, Luna is found before El can begin their ritual to forget all about Radomus, with Cain being held as a hostage by Bennett. However, Radomus and Gardevoir ambushed El and his disciples.
After leaving Subseven Sanctum, Luna asks the player if they are afraid of the dark and gives the player a key to Iolia Valley. She hints that the entrance is hidden behind a tree in Radomus' garden.
While traversing through Iolia Valley, the player will find Bennett along the way, who is searching for Luna in order to apologize (and admit his feelings for her). After meeting up with Luna, Bennett catches up and tries to apologize and confess, only to be turned away by Luna who returns to her gym chambers where she can't be followed. Bennett will challenge the player to a battle in order to retrieve the key. Once defeated, Bennett leaves and the player enters Luna's chamber where they challenge Luna to a gym battle.

|Gossip Gardevoir's interview intermission!
Hello! Gossip Gardevoir here in Interview Intermission, bringing YOU the inside scoop on Reborn's celebrity figures!
Today, I'm interviewing one of reborn’s best and most beautiful Gym Leaders, Luna!
Luna, dear? Why don’t you tell the audience a bit about yourself?
LUNA: Very well. Ah, hello? My name is Luna, and I am a trainer of dark type pokemon. I think dark is an absolutely lovely type. With the shade of uncertainty, anything becomes possible. It’s the type of pure imagination. That aside…I live in the castle. My father owns it, so I guess that almost makes me like….a princess? My mother is a famous model, and they’re both leaders, too. I suppose something like that must just run in our blood. I’m blessed to have such wonderful parents. And friends! Of course my best friend is…well, you, Gardevoir!
GARDEVOIR: Oh, Luna, you’re so sweet~ …unlike some other leaders I can think of…Honestly, the others could learn a thing or two from you!
LUNA: Is that so? Well, I wouldn’t say that. I simply try to be kind to everyone I can. Obviously each person has their own differences. That’s just a small part of what makes us all so individually wonderful.
GARDEVOIR: As bright-eyed as ever- ironic as that may be to say about a Dark trainer. Thanks for your time, Luna~ That’s all on today’s interview intermission. Until next time!
